Meta has unveiled monetization features designed to empower eligible creators in Kenya, allowing them to turn their passion for video content into a tangible income stream.
The new features, In-Stream Ads on Facebook and Facebook Ads on Reels, offer a powerful combination for creators to cultivate a thriving community and monetize their original videos.
“Every day, we’re inspired by the incredible African creators who use Facebook to tell their stories, connect with others and bring people together,” commented Moon Baz, Global Partnerships Lead, Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) at Meta.
This expansion will empower eligible creators in the vibrant creative industry in Kenya to earn money, whilst setting the bar high for creativity across the world and making Meta’s family of apps the one-stop-shop for all creators.
Here’s how the new features work:
In-Stream Ads: These ads seamlessly integrate into on-demand videos, whether pre-recorded or live streams, appearing before, during, or after content.
The ad types include:
Pre-roll Ads: Play before a video starts.
Mid-roll Ads: Play during videos.
Image Ads: Static image ads displayed beneath the content.
Post-roll Ads: Appear at the end of videos.
Facebook Ads on Reels: These ads integrate seamlessly into original Reels, allowing creators to earn based on their content’s performance while entertaining fans.
What does this mean for Kenyan creators?
Eligible creators in Kenya can now earn money for their video and Reels content, with support available in over 30 languages globally, including Swahili.
This exciting new initiative opens up unprecedented opportunities for Kenyan creators to establish a sustainable income from their passion for video content.
Important Eligibility Criteria:
To participate in either program, creators must meet the following criteria:
- Pass and remain compliant with Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetisation Policies.
- Be at least 18 years old.
